Induce or No Induce?

Laura stopped by yesterday. I didn't know she is 32 weeks! Our bellys are about the same size. I think I'm larger than her though. It must be tough to fly from NJ to here in economy class.

I got precious advice on inducement. Basically the gel put on the cervix only speeds up the contraction, not the dilation. Generally women who got induced will suffer more pain from contraction. And of course, if there is no dilation, a c-section will be the ultimate result.

I've talked to Biajee about this. I'm pretty confident that I could have the baby naturally. C-section is a major abdominal surgery and I don't like to be cut at all. Most doctors favor the induce procedure because they can control the time and everything. No midnight calls, etc.

I don't want to have a scar on my belly either although it is said I could still wear bikini after the c-section since the scar is under the hair line. We'll choose to wait till the baby comes by himself. Hopefully the baby will be born in the year of rat. Normally the doctor will recommend to induce if I still don't deliver after 41 weeks.

But how does he know I'm going to be late? He told me my first one would be late because it was the first one 2 years ago. And Arnold was four days early. The decision has been made that I won't ask to be induced unless the contraction starts.
