Who do you favor? - Mom or Dad?

I'm so bad at updating the blog lately. Work has been crazy. I wasn't even able to see Arnold from Monday to Wednesday last week. He was already bathed, fed and put to sleep by the time I got home. Biajee will go to Alberqueque for a business trip next week. I'll be a single parent for 3 days. It'll be interesting to see how my boss react to that. When I have to pick up Arnold, I have to. No debate. Otherwise the day care will call police.

It's such a beautiful day. I had thought maybe we could go to the mountains to look at leaves, but Biajee is still in bed. He likes to sleep in on weekends because we both wake up at 5 am every day, change Arnold's diaper, feed him, burp him, dress him, prepared his milk bottles for the day and then go to work. He deserves a good sleep on weekends.

We had hiked the past two weekends in Boulder though. It's so relaxing to go out. Colorado is a Spanish word, which means Colorful. It is mostly true in autumn. We have finished the mooncakes Biajee brought from NYC last year. It's amazing how long these things last.

Arnold is famous at Montessori now. He is known as the happiest baby there. He laughs and screams whenever people tease him or talk to him. He is sleeping next to his dad now. They two look very funny together...

Tire Pressure Gauge

The light on the tire pressure gauge of the Sienna came on and off since Saturday. I told Biajee he was too heavy, causing the tires to depressurize.

Finally I got serious and took the car to the dealership during lunch break. They worked on it for over an hour when I got really impatient since there were tons of things to be done at work. Finally the guy told me they were checking the wrong car because three Siennas were brought into the shop at the same time. The technicians took out a nail from the rear left tire, mended the tire and set me off on the road.

I feel so depressed. Today is a super bad day for all this to happen. It simply means I need to stay at work later than usual. There are tons of projects to be done and our head bosses are in Amsterdam, trying to remote control us on a daily basis.

I haven't had time to attend the HR training for next year's benefits enrollment or Harrassment. And I miss Arnold deadly. He has been eating ferociously lately. I'm taking him to the doctor's on Oct. 9th. Can't wait to have him measured and weighed!

Windows XP

Believe it or not, the two computers I'm using at the company are actually being upgraded to Windows XP and Office 2003 these days. I've been tolerating Windows and Office 2000 for 3 years already. Of course, right after they finished re-imaging and re-intalling everything for my laptop last weekend, I need to order a brand new laptop. I guess I shouldn't complain about it at all as long as I get paid working here. If I get the same amount of salary and am working the job of a receptionist, I'd be totally thrilled.

IS is working on my desktop today. There are issues with the amount of data. I only had over 53 GB of data on that hard drive that needs to be backed up. However, there is no server big enough to host all the data. They had to delete some of the old profiles there to make space for it.

My work hours has been much longer than before I went on maternity leave. I'm working 12 hours days on a regular basis and I even came in last Saturday. Stress and pressure are not good reasons for car accidents though. We're waiting for the van to be fixed. The body shop will give me a follow up call on Wednesday afternoon and hopefully we can have it back by the end of this week if the parts arrive in today. The damage I caused was around $2,400 and we need to pay $1,000 out of pocket. It's not the end of the world. I don't think the insurance premium will go up $1,400 so it's probably better to claim the loss.

An English Slang says "Bad Luck comes in three". I think I've got three already: the wedding ring, the engagement ring and the Sienna. Hopefully it's my lucky time to buy lottery tickets from now on.

Cash in Envelopes

I never dreamed of sending so much cash in a regular mail envelopes before. I think it's the safest and cheapest way.

I'm sending Japanese yen and euros via regular mail these days.

Got to pay for those Japanese milk bottles. They're the best. Arnold starts to drink more and more. I don't think the milk cow (me) can keep up with him soon. He took a 7 oz bottle last night before he went to bed. And he wants to be involved in all the activities Biajee and I are having: cooking, eating, talking, making faces, etc. We need to start reading to him before he goes to bed every night. He is a smart baby and should learn earlier than other kids. He'll recite all Shakespeare and Homer's books when he can read. And a handful of Chinese poems. I don't believe in letting them choose their own hobbies now because they have no idea what's good or bad yet. I, the super mom, would choose what he needs now, until he is old enough to make his own decision.

Wreck

I had a car accident yesterday in downtown Denver. I was merging left while the other car was merging right. He cut through in front of me and his rear right wheel hit my front bumper. He got a flat tire while my whole bumper just tore apart.

The police officer came and gave me a ticket that requires me to go to court on October 23rd. The other driver walked away before the officer arrived there so the police actually impounded the car.

We had our car towed back to the house since we had no idea where to fix it at. The insurance company got me a rental car this morning and they're going to send an appraiser to estimate the cost of fixing it. Then we'll decide which body shop to tow it to.

Arnold was with me in the car. All this was because I donated some money for AIDS Walk in Denver and was going to take Arnold to walk with me. I guess I should never mess with that organization again. It was the worst area in downtown Denver as well. Biajee said a lot of hookers live there. Maybe that's why they want to host the walk there.

Fortunately nobody was injured. I have a bad headache. I'm depressed. I may be suicidal...
